Our Programmes
Achieving change through community conversation, active engagement and individual learning.
Compassion in Action
The Compassion in Action Programme is a community-driven initiative aimed at promoting well-being and resilience through acts of compassion. By engaging individuals, families, and groups, we strive to create a network of support that uplifts those in need and cultivates a sense of belonging.
Plan Ahead (Advance Care Planning)
A vital initiative designed to empower individuals and families to make informed decisions about their future health, personal care, and end-of-life preferences. Through this programme, we aim to provide the tools and support necessary for people to express their wishes clearly and confidently, ensuring their choices are respected.

Death Positive Libraries
At Death Positive Libraries NI, we are dedicated to fostering a culture of openness, understanding, and acceptance around death and dying.
Our initiative aims to create safe spaces within libraries across Northern Ireland where individuals can explore, learn, and discuss topics related to death and end-of-life care without stigma or fear.
Compassionate Neighbours
We understand that people impacted by death, dying and loss often suffer a social death causing social isolation and loneliness.
By ensuring that people living with an advanced illness and frailty remain connected to people in the places where they normally live, work, play and pray, they are included and can contribute to their communities.
The same social death applies to informal carers and people living with bereavement.
Compassionate Conversations
Compassionate Communities NI provides a wealth of resources, including expert videos, guides, templates, and checklists, to help individuals and families plan effectively. These materials are designed to be accessible and easy to understand, ensuring that everyone can take steps towards planning their future.
Final Chapters
Our ‘Final Chapters’ workshop improves people’s knowledge of palliative care and end of life and empowers people to make informed choices about their future care plans.
It encourages people to offer support to people in their community who are living on the spectrum of a life-limiting illness and frailty.
