NI Advance Care Planning Week 2023
NI Advance Care Planning Week, 3 – 7 April, 2023
What’s it all about?
Advance care planning is about living for today and planning for our future care needs of tomorrow. During this week we are running multiple workshops around Northern Ireland on the new Advance Care Planning Policy.
The NI ACP Policy contains 4 components:
- Personal – what matters to you, that is your beliefs, values and wishes and important relationships
- Financial – can include matters relating to your estate andit might include payment for healthcare needs or your funeral
- Legal – such as an Advance decision to refuse treatment which sets out specific circumstances in which you would not want certain treatments or would want a particular treatment to be stopped.
- Clinical – planning for Emergency Decisions which includes decisions about resuscitation, ventilation or Organ Donation.
